Ball valves
Ball valves, one of KITZ’s main products, offer a lineup of valves compatible with a variety of materials. We also produce metal seats that support special lines and can handle operating temperatures up to 500°C, as well as Λ (lambda) port valves that can be closed and controlled to accommodate slurry fluids. We apply standards such as ANSI/ASME and API,MSS,ISO,DIN,JIS to supply worldwide.

Automatic valve with pneumatic actuator (B, F series)
This is an automatic valve equipped with a pneumatic actuator that is connected to industrial compressed air piping for use in processes such as petrochemicals, chemicals, and chemicals. Actuator types are B type, BS type, BSW type, 3B type, FA type and FAS type. The B series actuator with scotch yoke mechanism is a series with efficient driveability that realizes 0.1 million operations.
-
Motorized actuators for ball valves (KELMO EX Series)
The EX series is an actuator for electric opening and closing operations mounted on ball valves and butterfly valves. Aluminum die-cast castings are used for the actuator body, and planetary gears are used for the reduction gears.
-
Actuator driven Compact Ball Valves
Valves made of bronze, brass, or stainless steel are unlimited to accommodate a wide range of fluids. It is designed to take into account the small diameter lines of ¼ ″ to 2″ accompanying the automation of equipment, building facilities and plants. For ball valves, a high-precision ball valve body and a resin ball seat prevent seat leakage, making opening and closing operations smooth.
-
Trunnion Mounted Ball valve
T-60S Series are soft seated 3 piece Body Trunnion Mounted Ball valves.
-
Trunnion Mounted Metaball valve
Metal ball valves are available for special fluids such as powders, slurries, viscous fluids, and high-temperature fluids, which are difficult to handle with conventional soft seats.
-
Floating type ball valve (TDZ series)
This floating ball valve complies with international standards. Completely compliant with ISO17292, API608. Has the high performance required for severe service of the plant process. The mounting dimensions of the drive are ISO 5211 and CAPI and are compatible with drive units worldwide. Compliant with CE-mark based on PED 2014/68/EU.
-
All-welded forged steel ball valve
A fully welded forged steel body without longitudinal welds and a double seal system for all seal sections including the seat seal section are used to ensure flow prevention. This is a ball valve for pipelines with a safety design.
-
Floating type ball valve (flange type)
Floating type ball valve with flange type connection. A wide variety of materials are available depending on the application. It is equipped with an anti-static, stem pop-out, locking device, etc.
-
Λ port ball valve
This valve is structured so that the edges of the Λ characters are formed by the squeegee, and the flow rate is adjusted at the intermediate opening, and foreign matter in the liquid can be cut off while closing it by adopting a metal seat. Suitable for controlling special fluids such as paper, pulp, slurry, clay bodies, etc.
-
Special seat ball valve for high temperature
Specially seats with high proportions of carbon-based fillers in PTFE to improve heat resistance and wear resistance. Even at temperatures as high as 300°C, it exhibits excellent operability, durability, chemical resistance, and sealing performance with little permanent deformation.
-
Carbotite seats and ball valves for high temperatures
Carbotite Seal Ball Valves are ball valves that develop carbon for use in ball seats, and are capable of withstanding a maximum operating temperature of 500°C.
-
Stainless steel/carbon steel metaball valve
High sealing performance has been realized by high true sphere machining of the bar sphere and lapping of the seat surface. Can handle powders, slurries, viscous fluids, and high-temperature fluids that are difficult to handle with soft seat.

Ball valve applications
The use of ball valves is extremely wide, and there is a tendency for demand to increase even further in the future.
・Electric power industry and natural gas pipelines
・Petroleum refining and petrochemical plants
・General chemicals, machinery plant equipment and facilities
・Building Equipment
・Irrigation and pollution prevention
・Water and sewerage and gas supply for general households
Basic characteristics of ball valves
- Low fluid resistance
Since the flow passage of the ball valve is the same cylindrical shape as that of the pipe, the flow is smooth, and it is a valve with extremely small fluid resistance among various valves. (Full bore type ball valve)
- Easy automation with actuator installation
The ball valve is suitable for automation because it is fully opened and fully closed with a 90° rotation. We have standardized actuators for both pneumatic type and electric type, and we have made an appropriate and efficient response to the nominal valve diameter, operating conditions, etc.
- High sealing performance due to soft seal structure
The valve has a plastic sheet on the primary side (inlet) and secondary side (outlet) of the fluid around the ball. When closing, the ball is pushed against the fluid pressure, and the ball acts as a sealing force against the secondary side sheet. (Floating type ball valve)
- Valve shape is compact
Ball valves are nearly spherical in shape as compared with general sluice valves and ball valves, and their height, weight and compactness compared with those of the same nominal diameter make them also small in stress applied to piping, making them suitable for mounting in limited narrow spaces.
- Open/close operation is 90° rotation type and simple
For general gate valves and ball valves, the handle must be rotated back and forth 10 times to fully close the valve from fully open, but the ball valve only makes a quarter turn (90°).
- Easy maintenance
The structure of the ball valve is relatively simple, and it is easy to disassemble, assemble and maintain because of the small number of parts.
Select the product according to the operating conditions. ――KITZ ball valve
We provide a variety of ball valves with standard specifications to meet the diverse use conditions of our customers.
It is necessary to carefully examine the conditions of the target fluid, such as fluid, pressure, and temperature, before selecting the fluid.
For details on model selection, please download the catalog and check the description.
■Each valve has a working range of pressure and temperature. Be sure to confirm the conditions of the fluid before selecting.
■The standard soft seat of our ball valves uses PTFE based seat material, which limits the operating pressures and temperatures. For high-pressure, high-temperature fluids, select the “Metaball” or “Carbotite” series.
■We recommend PVC ball valves made of stainless steel and high-pressure-resistant resin for fluids with flow rate, differential pressure, and piping conditions, ductile iron ball valves for high-pressure gas and steam fluids, and cast ball valves for petrochemical plants.
■We recommend the “Λ Port” series for fluids such as textiles and slurries, and the “Metal Ball” and “Λ Port” series, which use metal sheets, when used with semi-open or restricted flow paths.
■Select a 3-way ball valve for the line for changing the flow path or for shunting and fluid mixing.
■In response to the need for automated valve opening and closing, our ball valves are available in standard models with pneumatic (B-type and FA-type) and electric (EXH-type) actuators for automatic operation.
